Ellie is a director, writer and dramaturg, specialising in new musical theatre and has assisted on a number of new musicals, including Imaginary (The Other Palace), Lock & Key (The Vaults) and Wasted (Southwark Playhouse). She is currently developing a variety of shows as director/dramaturg including 42 Balloons (Perfect Pitch) and Mario: A Super Musical (Transfer Productions). She is also the creator of The Menstrual Cups, a feminist cabaret group who sing about women’s sexual health.
Holly is a singer-songwriter and actress. She originated the role of Jane Seymour in SIX at the Edinburgh Fringe, and is a trained classical and jazz singer, and pianist. To date she has self-produced two albums: Mercury Sunrise (2015, available on Soundcloud), and Jouster (2018, available on Spotify). She has played at venues including The Portland Arms, The Corn Exchange, and Bath Folk Festival.
Holly and Ellie met at university and have been writing together for less than a year. They share a desire to create work that challenges structural oppressions through reimagining ancient narratives for the modern audience.
